Sweet Pete! What's Happening?

Well, I know that it has been forever since I have posted!!! I hate that I have been neglecting this blog, but to say that we have been busy is an understatement! Where to begin...

Oh Yeah... Matt got a new job... in Atlanta... working for Aon Hewitt. Don't ask me to explain what he does because I don't really understand it all. It is a huge... and I mean huge... building in Vinings! He left yesterday, started work today, and is staying with a friend. He will be up there Sunday nights through Friday afternoons and then come home for the weekends until the end of the school year when we will move up there. I have applied to literally every elementary school in Cobb County and Marietta City School District, and sixty something elementary schools in the upper section of Fulton County. If I don't get a teaching job, though I'm staying (trying to anyway) optimistic, I will sub. Subbing may not be my dream, but it will certainly get my foot in the door. I've worked my way up before and will happily do it again!

After two weeks on the market, assuming everything works out as planned, we have accepted an offer and pending Friday's inspection, we will be closing April 24th. This is very bitter sweet to be leaving our first home where we have raised our children and put our hearts into. Now, I'm not sure if you are aware, but only a month to find a place for us (well just Matt, until the end of the school year) to live in Atlanta and pack up our house  between school, homework, lesson plans, and baseball in just a months time, is a little daunting.

So let me break it all down for you... we have chosen to leave our family and friends (which totally breaks our hearts), our jobs (that we love), Columbus (where we have always lived), and our house (there's just something about owning and loving your first home) to move to a new city, Atlanta (super excited), to new jobs (a little scary to think about, but they will offer us a chance to provide a better life for Brady and Cannon, and a new adventure for our family! Though we are excited, we still have two months of living apart, except on the weekends, and the stresses of me dealing with the boys on my own, finding a place to live, packing our house up, and finding me a job! Needless to say, our emotions are everywhere and heightened.

Today was our first day  on our own. After our sad goodbyes yesterday, I wasn't sure how well this week would go and felt like these next two months were going to be impossible. So far, it's been very sad to not have Matt around. He is my best friend and it really stinks to not be with him. When I was getting Cannon dressed this morning, he looked around and said, "Where'd my daddy go?" Brady, who has quickly taken on the man of the house role, looks at him sweetly and says, "Daddy's not here anymore. He's in Atlanta, but we will see him in a couple of days." Cannon replied matter of factly, "We got to go get him!" ... what can I say, we love our daddy!

I cannot wait to be done with the stressful parts and get on to the exciting stuff! I know that once we get through the hard parts, we are really going to love Atlanta and all of the opportunities that our move their brings! We are ready for this new chapter in our lives and wherever it may take us!!! It's time for a little adventure in our lives and feels good to get off the beaten path!!! Here goes nothin'!
